I am an integrative and Person Centered Coach, Counsellor, Psychotherapist & Complementary Therapy Teacher.
I have a passion for health, wellbeing (physical, mental & emotional) and complementary therapies.
I am empathic, warm, funny, a bit quirky, down to earth, real, honest and authentic. I am also a great listener.
I understand trauma, feelings of self-doubt, low self worth, shame, anxiety and depression because I have first hand experience of all of them. I have personal experience working with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.
I also understand the drive for a better life than the one you have. Dreams, goals, and ambitions are all part of being human. First of all in order to have the life we want we have to feel worthy of that life.
In my spare time I enjoy expressive arts and escapism (writing, story telling, theatre, cinema), learning, yoga, mindfulness practices, running, cooking and spending time with my family.
I love visiting new places and meeting people from all walks of life. Adventure, imagination and exploration are all important to me. My son tells me that I am a particularly curious person.
Being in nature, either walking my dogs in the woods or being on or in the sea is very grounding, freeing and an important part of my own personal wellbeing.
I began my very early career working as a swimming instructor and lifeguard. I failed my GCSE’s first time and re-took them just about passing 4 of them. I have never been particularly academic, but believe anything can be achieved and it is never too late.
I trained to become a fitness instructor in my 20’s, and then went on to work as a HMRC Revenue Officer for 10 years in my 20’s and 30’s, teaching fitness in my spare time. During this time I got married and had two children. I gave this job up to follow my passion in wellbeing and complementary medicine and qualified as an aromatherapist and massage therapist in 2009. I then went on to train in a wide range of complementary therapies including reflexology, Indian head massage, sports massage, reiki and stress management before training to become a teacher so I could teach in my field.
In 2018 I trained in London to become a personal coach, which lead me on to training to become a counsellor & psychotherapist. I love to work creatively with my clients and think outside the box and I am passionate about helping people on their journey of self-discovery. I believe that there is a great link between mind, body & spirit and I find we often hold the answers we seek inside of us including our own innate ability to heal and overcome adversity, if conditions allow it.
