🌿 Embodied, Somatic & Mindfulness Support
Coming Home To Your Body
Many of us spend our lives living in our heads.
We think, analyse, worry, plan, problem-solve and try to make sense of our experiences through words alone.
Yet our bodies often carry important information too.
They hold our stress, our emotions, our protective patterns, our overwhelm, and sometimes even the things we have not yet found words for.
Embodied, somatic and mindfulness-informed approaches can help us gently reconnect with ourselves through the body, creating greater awareness, regulation and a deeper sense of safety.
For some people, this can feel like finally learning to listen to themselves in a different way.
🏡 How This Fits Within My HOME Framework
Embodied work naturally sits within the HOME Framework.
🏡 Hold Safety
Creating enough safety for your nervous system to begin to settle.
👁 Observe The Body
Learning to notice emotions, sensations, triggers and patterns before they take over.
🌱 Move & Regulate
Developing practical ways to work with stress, anxiety, overwhelm and emotional dysregulation.
✨ Embody Identity
Building greater trust in yourself, your needs, your boundaries and who you are.
🌿 What Might This Look Like?
Every session is tailored to you.
There are no rigid programmes, expectations or requirements.
Depending on your needs and preferences, we may incorporate:
🌱 Gentle movement
🌱 Grounding practices
🌱 Breath awareness
🌱 Mindfulness
🌱 Nervous system regulation techniques
🌱 Vagal nerve stimulation exercises
🌱 Body awareness and somatic exploration
🌱 Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
🌱 Indian Head Massage (where appropriate and by agreement)
🌱 Self Massage
Everything is offered as an invitation, never an expectation.
You remain in control throughout.
🎨 Working Creatively & Compassionately
Not all healing happens through talking alone.
Sometimes understanding emerges through creativity, imagination, reflection, movement or simply slowing down enough to notice what is happening within us.
Depending on your needs and interests, we may also work with:
🎨 Creative and expressive approaches, including drawing, journalling or imagery
🧘 Guided meditation and visualisation
❤️ Gentle inner child work and self-compassion practices
🌿 Mindfulness and present-moment awareness
💭 Exploring emotions, symptoms or physical sensations by becoming curious about what they may be trying to communicate
🗣️ Dialoguing with different parts of yourself, or with aspects of your experience that feel stuck, overwhelmed, frightened or unheard
👁️ Imagery, metaphor and symbolic exploration
Many clients find that these approaches can help them access insights, emotions and experiences that can be difficult to reach through words alone.
There is never any pressure to engage with any particular exercise or approach. Together we simply explore what feels supportive, meaningful and appropriate for you.
❤️ Mind, Body & Nervous System
Many people come to counselling feeling stuck in cycles of overwhelm, stress, anxiety, burnout or emotional exhaustion.
Sometimes insight alone is not enough.
We may understand what is happening logically while still feeling overwhelmed physically.
Embodied approaches help bridge that gap between knowing and experiencing.
Rather than trying to fight your nervous system, we learn how to work with it.
Rather than pushing through, we learn how to listen.
Rather than judging ourselves, we begin to understand what our mind and body may be trying to communicate.
For some people, difficult life experiences or trauma can leave lasting imprints on the nervous system, even when we understand them intellectually.
Somatic and mindfulness-informed approaches can gently support the development of safety, awareness and regulation without requiring you to relive or retell experiences before you are ready.
🌿 A Gentle, Flexible Approach
This work is:
✅ Trauma-informed
✅ Consent-based
✅ Collaborative
✅ Nervous-system informed
✅ Adapted to your needs and capacity
It is not about performance, flexibility, fitness or getting things right.
It is about creating greater awareness, regulation, self-compassion and connection with yourself.
💷 Sessions & Fees
Embodied, somatic and mindfulness-informed support can be integrated into counselling or coaching sessions where appropriate.
Sessions are charged at my standard counselling and coaching rates.
For clients wishing to combine counselling or coaching with extended embodied or somatic work, longer sessions can be arranged and tailored to individual needs.
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss what might be most supportive for you.
🌱 A Final Thought
One of the things I have learned through my own personal and professional journey is that lasting change rarely comes from forcing ourselves.
It often begins with understanding.
With slowing down.
With listening.
With creating enough safety for something different to emerge.
Sometimes the most powerful step forward is simply learning how to come home to yourself.
