About Me
I am an Integrative and Therapuetic Coach, and Counsellor, as well as a Counselling Tutor at The Devon Counselling College in Newton Abbot.
I have blended my training, expertise and knowledge to create fusion therapy and my clients needs are at the heart of my practice.
I support my clients to navigate life’s transitions and tough times, understand how their story impacts them and discover their potential.
I offer an empathic, safe and compassionate space for you to explore what is going on for you.
I understand trauma, feelings of self-doubt, low self worth, shame, anxiety and depression because I have first hand experience of all of them.
I have personal and familial experience with Autism and ADHD and the difficulties that this can bring.
I also understand the drive for a better life than the one you have. Dreams, goals, and ambitions are all part of being human. First of all in order to have the life we want we have to feel worthy of that life.
In my spare time I enjoy expressive arts and escapism (writing, story telling, theatre, cinema), learning, yoga, mindfulness practices, running, cooking and spending time with my family.
I love visiting new places and meeting people from all walks of life.
Adventure, imagination and exploration are all important to me.
My son tells me that I am a particularly curious person.
Being in nature, either walking my dogs in the woods or being on or in the sea is very grounding, freeing and an important part of my own personal wellbeing.
My Work
I trained to become a fitness instructor in my 20’s, because of my passion for fitness and then went on to work as a civil servant for 10 years in my 20’s and 30’s, teaching fitness in my spare time.
I then decided to follow my dreams and left the civil service to train as an aromatherapist in 2009.
Over the last 15 years I have trained in a wide range of complementary therapies, coaching, counselling and teaching.
I have an interest and passion for eastern medicine and mindfulness based practices.
This journey also led me to the discovery of my own ADHD (as well as other family members being diagnosed with ASC/ADHD).
I believe that there is a great link between mind, body & spirit and I find we often hold the answers we seek inside of us including our own innate ability to heal and overcome adversity, if conditions allow it.
Areas of interest & experience for me are trauma, neurodiversity, stress management, and relationships.
I also offer alternative therapies to my clients, if required, which can be taken alongside fusion therapy, including EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), guided meditations, and Reiki.
